We are looking forward to applications from national and international students, who are staying at least one year in Berlin.

Last year, Abu, Aylin, Gabriel, Karo and Serena provided a wide range of insights as weStudents. After this great run, we are now looking forward to new ideas.

Why is there the ambassador program?

Before taking up a course of study, many people are faced with the (often difficult) question of not only what to study, but also where. Most of them have to decide on a university that they don't even know yet. And the closer you get to the start of your studies, the more questions arise. Especially if you plan to study abroad. You probably remember this time well – and that's exactly why you are needed in this program!

Your input as an ambassador should support prospective and enrolled students. You should present the university from your point of view and report authentically about your experiences. By using videos, photos, short articles published on the social media channels of Freie Universität Berlin, prospective students will gain an insight into student and campus life at the university. The aim is to provide new students in particular with helpful information to ease their transition to university.

What are your tasks as an ambassador?

Generating ideas within the team, finding topics, setting priorities and summarizing them in a concept.

Additionally, you will show student and campus life by:

• taking pictures
• shooting short videos
• writing articles for social media and the weStudents-website

We are looking forward to your creative ideas and your active work. Before we start the tasks, we will have a chat with you and the other ambassadors to go over the specific roles each of you will take on. You do not have to be an all-round talent.

Why should you become an ambassador?

You will get:

• a remuneration for the duration of the cooperation
• a professional training on the topic of social media content creation
• a certificate of participation in the Student Ambassadors Program
• the opportunity to bring prospective students closer to real university life and help first-year students by providing helpful information

Who can become an ambassador?

Enrolled national and international students of Freie Universität Berlin who are

• enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (field of study is irrelevant) or
• exchange students for a minimum of one year
• available from April to July 2026 (on average eight hours per week, including weekly update meetings with the Student Marketing and Communications Team)
• fluent in spoken and written English, or have a very good command of English
• eager to work creatively

Alongside your application, you should submit a photo and a short video (Instagram-Reel or -Story) that you would create if you were already a student ambassador. You may choose the topic of your submission. Please send us the files via WeTransfer.

When does it start?

Short interviews will be conducted from mid- to late February to assemble the 2026 ambassador team. The team can then start brainstorming and developing a concept at the beginning of April before filming and shooting begins.
